Since age 25 I had colored my hair to cover up grays. I remember as if it was yesterday. My mom was combing my hair and found my first gray strand. I knew it was going to happen but at 13 yrs old??? "Come on!! This is not fair!" I thought. My abuela was completely silver and my mom salt and pepper.
It wasn't till I had a slue of health issues in 2014 that I decided to go cold turkey. I remember going to my hairdresser, Lauren and crying as she cut my beautiful fake brown locks to a pixie cut. I just couldn't grow the skunk out! It took me about a year to adjust. I realized that my sexiness never went away. It had always been there because it's the beauty of me as person: fun, witty. always smiling and welcoming people. I discovered I never really changed and learned how to accept myself 100%. But none of this would not have been possible without one special lady and her group, who support thousands of women going through the transition, Sharon Danley. I stumbled upon Sharon's YouTube Channel- TwoMinuteTips by accident. I immediately gained value in her tutorials. I highly recommend anyone who is contemplating the transition to check her out. Her makeup tutorial was just what I needed to make me look youthful with my silver locks. She also has an amazing support group, http://www.facebook.com/groups/goingray.lovinit The members of the group are so encouraging and it is fun supporting each other though the latest selfie updates. |
